The situation in 2026
Why a direct MT5 licence matters now
MetaQuotes no longer sells new MetaTrader 4 licences, and since 2024 it has cut off firms that offered MetaTrader without a direct agreement, including many prop trading firms and loosely structured white labels. The dependable way to offer MT5 today is a licence held by your own company.
A direct licence lets you run your own MT5 server, brand the terminal with your company name and website, and manage client accounts under your own entity. To get there, MetaQuotes reviews the company itself: who owns it, where it is registered and operates, whether it may lawfully offer trading services, whether it banks, and whether its website is transparent.
That review is where most applications slow down. Our role is to make sure your company passes it the first time.

Eligibility check
We review your business model, target markets and ownership, and confirm which company and licence route will be accepted.
Company & licence
If you do not yet have a suitable entity, we form one and, where needed, obtain the FX licence through our local partners.

Certificates, registers, address proofs, activity confirmation and legal opinion, all checked for consistency.
Website compliance
We review your website against what MetaQuotes expects: company details, addresses, contacts, risk warning and jurisdiction disclaimer.
Bank reference letter
We help you open a corporate account or obtain a PSP confirmation, and get the reference letter addressed correctly.
Submission & follow-up
We prepare you for SumSub verification and help you answer MetaQuotes questions quickly and consistently.
Eligibility
The basic conditions MetaQuotes sets
Before any document is reviewed, your company must meet these conditions.
Existing company?
If you already have a company, we review it first. Often only the objects, the address proof or the website need fixing, not a new entity.
- MetaQuotes licenses MetaTrader 5 only; new MT4 licences are not sold
- The applicant is a company, not a private individual
- The company is established for trading of financial instruments, online forex services or brokerage and financial services
- A legal opinion on the chosen jurisdiction is recommended
- The company holds a corporate bank account
- The company owns the domain of the website shown in the terminal
- The first payment covers three months of licence fees
Licence tiers
MT5 licence tiers from MetaQuotes
MetaQuotes offers tiers based on the number of real accounts. Fees are set by MetaQuotes and paid monthly.
| Tier | Real accounts | Typical user |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Up to 1,000 | New brokers and prop firms |
| Standard | Up to 25,000 | Growing brokers |
| Enterprise | Up to 200,000 | Large, multi-region brokers |
Tier names and limits are set by MetaQuotes and may change. We confirm the current terms during your application.
MT5 licence support: questions
Do I need an FX licence to get an MT5 licence?
Not always. MetaQuotes requires a company established for trading, forex or brokerage activities, and recommends a legal opinion. A Saint Lucia IBC can meet this without an FX licence; a regulated or offshore licence strengthens the profile for banks and liquidity providers. See jurisdictions.
Can you guarantee approval?
No one can. The decision is made solely by MetaQuotes. What we can do is make sure your file is complete, consistent and answers the questions MetaQuotes typically asks.
Who pays the MetaQuotes licence fee?
Your company pays MetaQuotes directly. Our consultancy fee is separate and quoted in advance.
Can you help if MetaQuotes already rejected us?
Yes. We review the reasons, fix the file (often ownership documents, address proof or website) and prepare a new submission.
